Skyblock Ultra Reset

    Skyblock will be reset on Saturday, July 13th @ 3PM EDT
    Live server will be brought down at 6AM EDT on the same day
    Server version: 1.12.2 (1.8 - 1.13.2 supported)
    Island Top, baltop, and achievement top will be taken on Friday, July 12th @ 6PM EDT
    Data that will not be transferred:

    • Inventories
    • Ender Chests
    • Player Vaults
    • All worlds and builds
    • MCMMO levels
    • In-game currency
    • In-game ranks
    Data that will be transferred:
    • Paid ranks
    • Paid commands
    • Country pickaxes purchases during the Independence Day sale
    Packages purchased prior to release will be re-run shortly after
    Anything purchased within 2 weeks of this announcement will be re-run
    The current season of Skyblock Ultra has, like the previous, been a rather short season compared to the last couple years. Thoughout this thread, we'll be going over all the changes we've been making to the server for the upcoming reset. This isn't going to be a typical reset as it has been over the last several months, instead, there are quite a few significant changes that will change how this server is fundamentally played. So let's get into it.
    As mentioned above, the lifespan of the seasons has gotten significantly shorter over the last couple of resets, and we'd like to change that. We understand that a lot of our core player base played our Skyblock server to have a fun, laid back time without having to worry about competition for the top island. We originally introduced gift card rewards as an extension to playing, as a means of rewarding you for performing tasks that gave you the top levelled island. However, this has slowly turned the server into simply a big competition for the top island levels, and not the fun place it once was. The result of that was the player count would drop off far quicker than we could have ever expected. With this reset, we'll be bringing the server back to its original casual self. This may disappoint those of you that played specifically for the competition, but don't lose hope yet. We plan on providing that competition you've come to want on Skyblock Ultra with another server in the not-so-distant future, not only with the reward of gift cards, but more on that when it's happening.
    The following things will be changed on the server to take away the competitive nature of the mode:
    - Gift card rewards for top island
    - There may be gift card rewards for specific events, such as the best looking island and so on, but this is yet to be decided​
    - Dirt and sand will no longer be extremely rare
    - Island levels have been replace with island worth
    - Only very specific blocks will count towards your island's worth​
    As mentioned, we understand there are those of you that like the competitive aspect of the server, and we don't want to leave you in the dust. However, we'd like to have a distinct difference between the two when the time comes.​
    For years, we've had people request we add new settings that you can change for your island. Unfortunately due to a lack of dev power, we were largely unable to fullfil this. However, this has recently changed, and we've added a few new settings that you can use on your island. As a result of this, we have been able to bring back some old commands that were removed due to excessive abuse, /jump and /top.

    These are the new flags you will be able to use:
    - Toggle mob spawning on your island
    - Toggle the ability for visitors to fly on your island
    - Toggle the ability for visitors to use /jump and /top (separate settings) on your island​
    We're excited that we're finally able to bring these back because we know they have been such a heavily requested feature to be brought back for so long.​
    Since its original inclusion into Skyblock Ultra, the custom fishing system has had little change in that time. It wasn't very flexible to work on which meant we were unable to do a lot of changes that we originally wanted to do to it. This reset, we have remade this entire system with those changes in mind, and with the ability to expand upon it however we like going forward.

    The type of fishing rod you use will now be more important, particularly the luck level of the rod.
    Note: The rewards shown here are simply placeholder and do not represent the final reward output for the official release.
    As you can see in the image above, it'll now state your luck level when receiving rewards, the multiplier, and the fish size (more on all of these later). As expected, your level will determine the types of rewards you'll receive and how much vanilla EXP and fishing EXP you'll get.

    Mentioned was the fish size; now when you catch a fish, you'll have a chance of catching fish of various sizes. Larger fish are more likely to be caught the better your rod is, meaning the enchantments on your fishing rods are even more important. The larger the fish, the more fishing EXP you will receive.​

    Since their introduction, we've had many requests for the ability to toggle mob coin notifications just like you can with mob souls. Unfortunately with the old system, a toggle wasn't possible. However, we've also remade this system ourselves which has allowed us to do two major things; add a notification toggle and also a multiplier system.
    The multiplier notification will only show if there is a multiplier active.
    Not only have we added a multiplier system to mob coins, but we've also added multipliers to the following systems:
    - Fishing
    - Mob Coins
    - Mob Souls​
    These use the same system that the vote system uses for allow double vote weekends, meaning we can now enable various multipliers on certain weeks if we choose. Just like the mob coins, the other systems will tell you the multiplier if you receive any of their respective rewards.​
    First introduced to Survival in its latest reset, Player Warps have proven to be extremely successful, with many people making use of them to set up their own shops and towns for others to visit. This season, we'll be bringing this system over to Skyblock Ultra which will replace the island warp system entirely.

    With this system, you'll be able to set more than one warp, while also being able to set the following settings for your warp:
    - Name
    - Description (lines 1-5)
    - Icon
    - Public/Private
    - Type (category)
    - Icon (in warp GUI)
    - Action bar (when you teleport to the warp)
    - Title (when you teleport to the warp)
    - Subtitle (when you teleport to the warp)
    - Add members (for when private)
    - Remove members
    - Ban players from using warp
    - Unban players
    - Active (adds or removes from the warp GUI)
    - Password (require a password to go to the warp)
    - Move (change the location of the warp)​
    Only island owners will be able to create warps on their islands.​

    Another aspect that we'll be changing this season is the top mining speed for pickaxes. Currently, you are able to to instantly break most blocks no matter what you're doing (whether you're jumping, flying, or moving). We'll be bringing this down to a maximum of efficiency 8 which means you can only instantly break ores and stone when standing on the ground.
    In the past, island top gift card rewards have been difficult to work out and distribute to the winners, so we'll be changing how we go about this. As mentioned at the top of the thread, the final check for island top will be done on Friday, July 12th @ 6PM EDT to make both ours and your lives far easier. Once we have them, we'll then announce the winners on Discord and provide the payouts to the island owners. More details on that when the post goes live. This is how we plan on doing it going forward for any other server we do payouts for in the future, so make sure you're in our Discord already!

    We'll be doing payouts for the following:
    - Top 3 islands
    - Top 3 balances
    - Top 3 achievements
    The rewards are as follows:
    - 1st - $100 Gift Card
    - 2nd - $50 Gift Card
    - 3rd - $25 Gift Card
    Alongside this reset comes a plethora of minor changes that aim to improve your overall experience on the server.
    • It'll now state who's the island owner in the island top GUI member list if there is a team
    • Added flight island flag
    • Added /jump island flag
    • Added /top island flag
    • Your inventory will no longer close when you click outside of a Skyblock-related GUI
    • Updated formatting of island settings GUI
    • Updated name formatting on island warp GUI
    • Updated formatting on island top GUI
    • Your island will now show inside the island top GUI at all times
    • When doing /is listcoops, you'll now be told if you have nobody cooped rather than it showing the command usage
    • Reformatted all holograms
    • Added Fisherman NPC
    • Updated skins for NPCs with current Admins and Management
    • Remade withdrawal system
    • Added balances GUI (/balances)
    • Updated formatting for ClearLag and TwitterRewards
    • Fixed an exploit with monthly crates that allowed for infinite usage in some situations

    A quick FYI... if you've never been on one of my islands this might be worth checking out before it's gone. It should be unlocked: /is warp R_Turnbull -- never get time to finish them, spent too much time building for others this session.

    This will definitely make skyblock much more alive even tho the active player count will see a slight decrease due to disappearance of afk-ers. Looking forward to start anew. Great effort by staff and especially the developer team for this new update.

    it’s still possible to AFK and gain money etc etc, but it won’t be as op as it was this map.

    Just wondered if additional gift card spot prizes could be given for island creativity to reward best builds as well...not just based on block type
